Many people wonder about how to bring the world of witchcraft and nature in a urban setting. For the book, When I See the Wild God, you get a sense of that spirit for those who live in any setting. Showing the Celtic heritage within the realm of nature, magick, and sacredness, Ly de Angeles brings magic theory, practice and small things that will draw you closer to the Lord of the WIld.
I enjoyed reading about the various gods and how they fit not only in the realm of magic and Celtic beliefs, but also in how I can invoke them within a setting that's not quite what the ancient Celts lived in. However, what truly captivated me were the rituals and the stories within the rituals that was given in order to help understand the meaning of the various solstices, equinoxes and holidays. For me, I found myself reading and rereading those, picking up hidden meanings and further points that I hadn't gotten the first time around.
I found this a wonderful read and an easy reference to various aspects of bringing Celtic Witchcraft to my life. Though I wish there was a bit more practicality, such as ideas on activities or even songs, this book is definitely worth reading and sharing. Though I wouldn't mark it as a beginning book, I think anyone who has been walking the Wiccan path would enjoy this book.
