Kim Valenti has a talent for codebreaking, thus her stint with the National Security Agency. When she and her partner get hints that a TV station is being targeted by terrorists, she goes to check it out, only to overhear a bigger plot-- someone wants to blow up the Presidential candidates in Chicago. She can only trust one person-- a man she's never met except through email and instant message exchanges-- Lex Tanner. What she doesn't expect is that people don't want to believe her until they find the bomb, thus making her, her partner and Lex targets in a bigger scheme. Can her Athena Academy training get her through this rough time? Or will she fail it all?
What a story! This is how I've seen Bombshells. Action, adventure, romance and more action. From the opening pages, you're drawn into a story that doesn't stop. It's methodically laying out moment after moment of action, deduction and seduction. Ruth Wind gives you a story that not only rocks, but makes you want to take a stab at code breaking. The only thing I found a bit disappointing to the story is that the ending seemed a bit rushed, but it was complete with no ends dangling. I'd have loved to seen a bit more on how they broke the code and a bit more on the technique in putting together the information for the end better, but I couldn't ask for a more kickass book if I tried. Truly a fantastic book, it's one that makes the Bombshell line rock!
