With writing that is both compelling and charming, Jimmy is a contemporary classic!

Jimmy is a teenager who is a little different from the other children in his hometown of Piney Grove, Georgia. Professionally speaking, he's mildly retarded or "slow". However on a spiritual level, he's far more perceptive than most believers. He's able to remember, with amazing accuracy, everything he sees and hears. Especially when he sees a Watcher.

The author has creatively and effectively used the slower pace of Jimmy's lifestyle to set the tone of this story. These pages seem to lazily wander from one episode to another, yet they all contribute to the overall impact of the novel. Jimmy's limited understanding lends itself to a thought-provoking and heart-warming message. Readers will see things through his eyes and will wonder at the sights presented.

The spiritual message is subtle and simple. Jimmy is able to see Watchers, or angels, at different moments and in different places. He accepts this with a finality and a firm faith. His spiritual understanding is truly that of a young child, filled with the awe and wonder of new discoveries. He takes the words of the Bible sincerely and literally. This innocence and awareness are the guiding forces in his life and readers will be touched at how he responds to various situations.

Robert Whitlow's expertise in law is manifested in some wonderfully well-written courtroom scenes. In fact, every word in this story has been carefully arranged to move the action along to a surprising conclusion.

Meeting Jimmy was an enriching experience!
