Even though this romance is set in London of 1919, the author has still written a novel that is very contemporary. With the increase in the use of "herbal" or "natural" medicines, it is not a stretch to imagine that there were those in the population many years ago who wanted to use such remedies.

Nurse Vivie (Viviane) Field is two months from her nursing certificate. Once she has that, she can start the clinic she has always dreamed of. Where conventional medicine is practiced, along side natural Druid medicine. Yes, Druid medicine. Vivie is one of a long-line of powerful Druid women, and not afraid to use that medicine when necessary.

Which does not bode well with Dr. Alecander Stratton. He is a brilliant doctor who believes in protocols and modern medicine. Dr. Stratton has his whole future planed out for himself. He plans on building up a patient list that will include only the richest and most prestigious families in London. He finds it very curious that Nurse Field had the money to open her clinic after she passed her nursing certificate. But even though he found Nurse Field beautiful, he consciously made the decision that he would not succumb to the attraction he felt for her. She just did not fit in with his life-plan.

What Dr. Stratton did not know, is that Vivie was the granddaughter of the Duke and Duchess of Lambden. Her real last name as Dellafield. She did not mention it much as she wanted to get ahead on her own merits and not because of her family's name.

The problem for both of them is that they are attracted to each other, but Vivie's Druid treatment of patients many not let them be together.

As I said previously, this is a very timely story, even though it was set in 1919. Vivie is one who believes in natural healing, just like the Druids. Just as many people do today.

The best part of reading this book was how each page just flowed into the next. I was always interested in what was going on, and wanted to know what was coming next. The characters and dialogue flowed just as well, which added to the ease of getting through the story.

For those who like fantasy and romance, this is a very fun book to read.
