On a road of discovery, there are many twists and turns that can bring not only explanations, but also surprises, making the journey well worth the time invested.

Dàn has been searching for answers as to who and what his parents were for over 400 years. He needs to know; reoccurring visions of him destroying the world has him keeping a tight leash on powers that he's afraid will end everything. Rath has been his protector and companion for most of their lives. Both Dàn and Rath are part of the Eagle Clan their extended family of Valàfrn (werewolves).

Although Rath would rather go back home to spend the holiday with their family, he instead goes with Dàn to Niagara Falls in search of a demon that may have information about Dàn's father. While driving through the city, a young girl darts in front of their car, and through Dàn's quick reflexes and use of magick, Angel is unhurt. Her distress though is not from the near fatal accident; it's for her mother who is in trouble. Rath goes into the alley that Angel points out and sees a small, delicate looking woman being shaken and hit by a man. Rath's protective instincts kick in and he rushes to the woman's rescue. When he looks into her eyes he is enthralled, when he touches her, he's lost. This woman, Destiny, is something special. Is she the one that the Oracle spoke of? Is Destiny, his destiny? His mate?

Destiny is on the run. She's sure the men that killed her lover are still after her, and now her daughter, Angel. After her lover, Angelo, distracted the men that were hunting them, Destiny ran…and is still running. The death of Angelo devastated her, but she has their daughter to fill her life with both meaning and love and NO ONE will take her baby away from her. 5 years later she's in Niagara Falls, dancing to support both her daughter and herself. Destiny has had help along the way, a sweet couple took her in when she was pregnant and since she's been in Niagara Falls, a sweet man, Grant, has taken to Angel and has helped in taking care of her while Destiny had to work.

In Destiny, the second book in the Eagle Clan Series, danger and adventure abound. I was pulled into this story from the beginning and loved every minute of the ride until the end. Dàn is an intriguing character that had me feeling his emotions from the get-go, Rath is dangerous with a heart of gold, Destiny is fragile, but has a spine of pure steel, Grant is a totally loveable demon and Kita…I just love a kick-ass, smart-ass. This world that L. Shannon has brought to life is one that I'd love to live in…who could turn down a sexy werewolf or a gorgeous demon?

The whole Eagle clan is a menagerie of truly interesting characters that I can't wait to get to know better. I truly enjoyed Destiny, and I hope that L. Shannon has another book in the series released soon; I'll definitely be picking it up!
