Intimate Intercession is reader-friendly and Spirit-inspired! There is an effective combination of the practical and the sacred within these pages. The author writes with a simple honesty as she points to the majesty of God and the real joy of praying for others.
The book is arranged in a progressive order, with the first chapter defining the role of intercessor. Later chapters build on this foundation while explaining the many benefits of faith-filled praying. The Bible issues a Divine invitation for Christians to stand in the gap between God and those in need Recognizing and responding to this call bonds people to the very heart of God.
The author candidly states that although she is not an expert on intercession, she wants to come alongside readers to share her thoughts, insights and personal stories. She recognizes the struggles involved in praying and wants to encourage others with her sincere enthusiasm. Each chapter rests solidly on Scripture and is further enhanced by devotional exercises designed to put these words into action. Most interesting are the prayers at the end of each section. The words of Jesus, Jeremiah, Charles Wesley and Saint Patrick, to name a few, speak through time to today's reader. The thoughts of their hearts both inspire and instruct.
Readers are motivated to pray through the use of some practical suggestions. These pages are designed to introduce everyone to the reality of a rich prayer life. Although the idea of intercession may seem intimidating, the author makes this concept completely understandable through her sensitive and discerning writing.
Intimate Intercession is a close up look at a more consecrated way of life!
