Morrigan Blake is a reporter going after a story to expose Galaxy Brides and the rumors that they restore the virginity of the women they have contracted to marry men of other planets that need earth brides. Morrigan has a small cubicle apartment on Earth, but is more at home on various company space pods, going from onelocation to the next, following each story assigned to her. She is a writer, a journalist. Her mind craves knowledge and excitement. Her intellect thrives on digging for facts, no matter how mundane they may seem to others. Her very nature yearns for more, always more. Her wanderlust has been with her since girlhood, settling in one place would drive her crazy.

Ualan is the eldest son of the King and Queen of the Draig. Born into a warrior class, race, Ualan is one of their finest. Tall and strong, with the ability to shift, he is a force to be reckoned with. As the eldest crowned prince, Ualan needs a wife to carry on the royal line. The neighboring kingdom of Var is the long-standing enemy of the Draig and although there has been no all-out war for almost one hundred years, the Draig keep a constant vigil, watching for treachery.

Arriving on Qurilixen on the Galaxy Brides' starship, Morrigan was nervous being garbed in a traditional Qurilixian bridal dress, there wasn't much to it. As Morrigan walks between the row of bachelors her attention is caught and held by a tall, muscular man with piercing blue eyes, she has to force herself to remember that she is here for a story not to be a bride. Ualan watches the midnight haired beauty as she walks by him, captivated; his crystal begins to glow, indicating this woman is destined to be his mate.

I enjoyed this story thoroughly, but I would have liked it even more if Ualan's character was explored a little deeper. Dragon Lords: The Barbarian Prince is an enjoyable read and the world that Michelle M. Pillow has created is exciting and a place I will enjoy visiting again in the next of her series.

Silk is the last of her father's creations and the only success. She will avenge her father's murder and her own death. Yet, Quinlan St. James is more than she seems, an eccentric reclusive billionaire who is donating her father's papers to a local museum.

Nikandros Grant has to see if Quinlan is about to betray her father's last work by selling it to the highest bidder or not. He finds himself falling for this woman who is very unique in her own way. But he will do what needs to be done as there's no other choice.

This story is worthy of any and all accolades possible. The worldbuilding is beyond the pale and the story of Silk is unique. When things are said and done, including when she believes that Nikandros is the one trying to steal the formula, she hates herself and what must be done. I won't tell you if he is or not, but this story will haunt you as you consider the actions of doing what's right even when it can hurt the ones we love. In the end, there is more than just a fight against evil, it's an individual's place to define where they draw the line. Kudos to Michelle Pillow for a phenomenal read.
