In this sturdy board book, youngsters learn about patterns as Bow-Wow orders lunch. As his sandwich is built, each ingredient is indentified, allowing children to readily recognize and even predict the pattern. But what happens when the pattern is broken?
Trying to review Bow-Wow Orders Lunch was an ordeal, not because I didn't enjoy it, but because my daughter took off with the book and didn't bring it back until just recently. She reads this particular book three or four times a day; given that she is an avid reader, that in itself says a lot. The simple illustrations are eye-catching and engaging, colorful but not overwhelming. Bow-Wow's expressions are adorable and it is easy to fall in love with him. The scarcity of words is boon as it allows children to tell the story in their words, boosting their imagination.
