An intricate plot, enriched with details only Washington insiders could know, this book takes readers behind the closed doors of justice to reveal a sinister scheme. Excellent writing and an exciting story line create an atmosphere pulsing with the heady aphrodisiac of power, yet sharply contrasted by the quiet strength of spiritual discernment.

Fans of the authors' previous book, Facing Justice, will not be disappointed with this novel. Once again, the Munson writing team brings their intimate knowledge of the legal system to these pages with consummate skill. Although fiction, the characters teeter on the edge of reality, as crisp dialogue and suspenseful scenes briskly move the action along.

When the star prosecution witness in a bribery case goes missing, FBI agent Griffin Topping is set on the trail. Although his search puts his life in peril, he is determined to find the truth. His investigation is enlightening in more than one way as the element of Christianity is smoothly incorporated into the narrative. The authors skillfully add an emotional and spiritual element to the novel, while retaining the razor sharp intellectual tone of a legal thriller. This blending of mind and soul brings the story into sharper focus while causing the characters to become more realistic. While the events could be seen on the evening news, the timelessness of Christianity stands firm. Surprises send shock waves through the pages, making the ending more than worthwhile.

Confirming Justice decisively differentiates between the ephemeral and the eternal source of power with a contemporary voice and a subtle, yet powerful, spiritual edge.

Facing Justice

Publishing Date: September 2005
Genre: Fiction: Christian/Suspense
Format: Trade Paperback

Facing Justice deftly balances fact and fiction! The plot is contemporary enough to be on the evening news, while the characters possess an authenticity that's astonishing.

The Armed Revolutionary Cause (ARC) was spawned from the bowels of Al Qaeda. It's big, it's evil and its operatives have infiltrated every facet of American life. It may also be using a church to funnel money to their headquarters. Eva Montanna is head of a task force, which tracks down and cuts off the supply of money to terrorists. However, when the trail leads to Eva's own church, she may need a miracle to stay ahead of the bad guys.

The authors' personal knowledge brings a powerful element to this story. Diane Munson is a former Federal Prosecutor and David is a retired Federal Special Agent. Their insights infuse the characters with a sense of realism, while providing specialized details to an already exciting plot. The legal aspects and the planning stages of the investigative work allow readers a rare glimpse into this world.

Yet, these pages take the ticking time bomb of terrorism closer to home. The personal lives of the characters enter into this story as a gentle reminder of the true cost of terror. As these agents put their lives on the line for the world, family members are home waiting for them. This idea brings an intimate feel to a global problem.

The ending is perfect, and maintains the air of uncertainty and unrest that permeates the novel. In fact, this reviewer feels a sequel may be in order!

The verdict is in. Facing Justice is both riveting and recommended!
