Lindsay Mayer was troubled by her husband's frequent absences over the four years they were married. Her husband Griffin was a college professor and left frequently to go to numerous seminars and always left Lindsay alone. Lindsay, after not hearing from her husband for over three weeks, called the emergency number Griffin left her only to find out the number was bogus. Sick, upset, and feeling abandoned, Lindsay calls her childhood friend Chloe, in hopes of talking out her woes.

Chloe, hearing how upset Lindsay is, invites her to New York to visit before Chloe moves back to Washington DC. Lindsay is unsure if she should leave. What if Griffin comes home or tries to contact her and she is not there? Chloe tells her then maybe it is time her unfeeling husband worried about where Lindsay was. As he has done to her many times.

Lindsay flies to New York and goes to the hotel where she is to meet her friend Chloe. The hotel clerk asks if she is Mrs. Mayer and when she confirmed it, gives her a room key and directions to the room she is to go. Lindsay goes to the room thinking it was Chloe's and opens the door to find her missing husband, Griffin. The site of finding Griffin standing there leaves her speechless and then a beautiful woman walks out from another room in the suite telling her beloved it was time to go back to bed. Lindsay, devastated, runs out of the room and into Chloe in the elevator. And tells her what she just had seen.

Months later, Chloe is still trying to help Lindsay over the deception of her no good husband. Finally convincing Lindsay it was time to get on with her life, Chloe helps Lindsay find a different identity and a whole new, exciting way of life.

Five exciting years later, we find that Lindsay has joined the Justice Department and had been transferred to London. In the five years, Lindsay has become Honor Danforth...secret agent. She changed her appearance immensely... different color hair and style, different eye color (with the help of contact lenses), a more svelte body and acquired a British accent. Add to that the required skills it takes to become a top secret agent.

A new threat arrives for the British Embassy in Washington, DC. Valuable ID's are stolen that has secret codes encrypted. Honor is sent to Washington to find the missing ID's and destroy them (for she is the one that had invented and designed them) and to thwart any assassination attempt on visiting delegates that were there for a very important meeting. Once in Washington, Honor is teamed up with a top secret American agent to resolve this new threat. Only Honor didn't know that America's top secret agent she is teaming up with is none other than her college professor, cheating, and no-good husband, Griffin Mayer.

Will Honor/Lindsay be able to keep her true identity from Griffin? Will they be able to work together to fight the evil force threatening to destroy them? More importantly.... will Griffin and Lindsay/Honor be able to work through all the lies and deception that has ruled over their relationship?
