Cherishing the Earth offers a realistic and vibrant perspective of a Christian's role in caring for God's creation. The authors gently weave appropriate scriptural principles throughout these pages, highlighting the three dimensions that are involved in maintaining an environmentally-healthy community. The more familiar emotional and physical aspects of a Christian's stewardship to Earth's resources are explored, but the addition of the spiritual element provides a stirring call to action and compassion.

Most impressive about this book is the seamless integration of God's ancient wisdom and creation's current needs. Concern over the enormous environmental issues affecting the globe empowered the authors to share a path of purpose, which leads to viable solutions and hope. This book reflects their own personal journey and records the effects of applying scriptural thinking to their actions. Their commitment to the environment is seen in every sentence, while their respect for the Creator provides the underpinning of all that they do and say.

These pages are understandable and interesting, clearly explaining scientific and scriptural principles. This book was definitely written with a true desire to impact the lives of their readers and the environment. The authors' view is both global and eternal, giving this book a universal and unique approach. The addition of photos, taken from various locations around the world, underscores the connectedness of the planet and showcases key concerns and projects. A very helpful list of Web sites concludes the book and provides resources to continue this environmental journey.

Cherishing the Earth shows the tenderness and wisdom of God in the world around us and challenges readers to reflect those attributes while caring for His creation.
