Like most of the children at the Jolly Days Orphanage, Wally and Cheyenne Shluffmuffin want to be adopted. However, there is the fact Wally’s feet stink something atrocious and Cheyenne is allergic to well…everything. Life at the Jolly Days Orphanage wouldn’t be quite so bad, but Wally and Cheyenne remember what their life was like before their father died in a tragic porta-potty incident. Things are about to change for the Shluffmuffin twins…
One day, two sisters come to the orphanage and want to adopt Wally and Cheyenne. Being a realist, Wally has to wonder why they would want them, especially with their unique problems. But Hortense Jolly refuses to see anything wrong with their request and send Wally and Cheyenne home with the Mandible sisters.
Yep, something was definitely weird…the Mandible sisters lived in the middle of Dripping Fang Forest. Who in their right mind would live there? Between the man-eating talking wolves and the glow-in-the-dark slugs who will suck your feet off your ankles, Dripping Fang isn’t the most normal place in the world.
What will happen when Wally and Cheyenne discover the truth about the Mandible sisters? Will anyone believe their tale, even though it does sound stranger than fiction?
Fun, scary, suspenseful and gross all at one time. Secrets of Dripping Fang Book 1: The Onts is certainly an interesting book with an unusual cast of characters. I wasn’t sure how I’d enjoy this book as it is not something I normally read or even read as a child, but Greenburg’s writing is engaging and I couldn’t stop reading. Secrets of Dripping Fang Book 2: Treachery and Betrayal at Jolly Days is already available and I’m looking forward to the further adventures of Wally and Cheyenne Shluffmuffin.
