As a mother of three children, I've seen (and read) plenty of alphabet books. Lois Ehlert's Eating the Alphabet is one of the most unique and entertaining I've read. With one fruit or vegetable for every single letter, this book offers a myriad of healthy eating choices while teaching letter recognition. My children love naming the different fruits/veggies and having alphabet meals where we eat only fruits/veggies that start with a certain letter.

Colorful and pleasurable, Eating the Alphabet is a delicious stroll through the produce department!

"Leaf Man used to live near me, in a pile of leaves. But yesterday the wind blew him away." So begins Leaf Man's adventures as he journeys wherever the wind blows. Floating over cows, ducks, gardens and rivers. Where is he bound? Only the wind knows, "for a leaf man's got to go where the wind blows."

A sheer delight! Leaf Man is delightfully illustrated, with copies of actual leaves. Cows, people, birds and more are carefully created with leaves. Whenever I review children's books, I share them with my children. They adored Leaf Man, guessing where the wind would blow him next and what he would pass. Afterwards, (and even now) they created their own creatures. Ehlert's narration is charming and conveys a sense of adventure and curiosity. Entertains, stimulates the imagination and brings the entire family together, what more could you ask for?

Leaf Man is a hit with this reviewer and her family!
