A journalist is arriving to conduct a week-long interview. As owner of the Paradise Resort, Morgan is far too busy for things like that. While Morgan can't deny the fantastic exposure a magazine article could do for her resort, she is terrified of her past - mainly of her marriage and divorce to David. Morgan is proud of what's she's done - provided a place where fantasies and sexual pleasure have no boundaries for two consenting adults. To be the center of an article terrifies her.

Tony Marino is not sure what to expect when he arrives at the resort. No whips, chains or people having sex in the open. But he knows this place is notorious for all things sexual. It is his job to see what those things are, and to get whatever scoop he can on the owner, Morgan Brown. Tony is looking forward to the challenge. This resort has been here for three years, and that is about the extent of information he's been able to find on Morgan. Though her resort fulfills her life on a lot of levels, she experiences a deep sense of loneliness. Tony raises an intense awareness in Morgan that makes her wonder if she can ever trust again, and if that trust will ever come back to haunt her.

The incredibly sexy Tony is amazingly observant when it comes to Morgan. Just by glimpsing into Morgan's eyes, even before he can take a good glimpse into her past, he knows that something is not right. It is gratifying to see Tony's goals change quickly. Whereas at first he was hoping to find dirt to sell to the tabloids, he then wanted nothing more than to free Morgan. With amazing patience and compassion, Tony went a long way in earning Morgan's trust. Don't miss Passion in Paradise 2: Paradise Revival and see how two people who weren't looking for permanence or marriage found a way toeach other's hearts. It is character-driven books like this that keep me coming back for more. I hope that we get to visit the resort again soon.

Serena Graham, college professor, has saved nearly a year to be able to spend time at the hedonistic Paradise Resort. However, there is a kink in her plans from the beginning. She's been double-booked with this Adonis. The hotel is completely booked, too. He offers to share the suite, but he is way out of her league.

Michael Donovan is planning to spend a week at a resort in the Caribbean. He'll be working on the research for his next erotic crime novel. As a side, he'll enjoy a few nights of hot sex with his girlfriend. However, she has moved on, and he's there all alone. When the lovely Serena shows up at his door, claiming that this is her room, he realizes his plans have just taken a sharp turn.

Paradise Resort has a delicious week of menus. What activities will Michael and Serena agree to do together? Ground rules? Yes. Michael and Serena agree to keep it impersonal, no emotions at all. Let the fun and games begin.

At what cost, however, do they try to keep this strictly sex? Is it indeed possible for sex to be a completely emotionless act? Who will break that boundary first?

Problems manifest themselves from the very beginning. For one thing, this young couple has an incredible compatibility. It's been quite a while that Michael has found a woman that he enjoys both in and out of bed. Serena, who lives in a small town, and worries that gossip could be her downfall, kept her deep sexual needs hidden. Michael brings those needs right to the forefront, and wakes up deeper desires and feelings for Serena. Add to that fact, she is a huge fan of Michael's and is an incredible resource for him in the plotting of his current book.

These two sensual characters, and their sensitivity, make Paradise Awakening a very impressionable read. I couldn't help but be affected by the incredible love scenes, as the emotional edge was something that caused me to hold my breath more than once. Sex quickly moved to making love, and words of love were slipping out, much to Michael and Serena's dismay.

Debut author Jaci Burton may be new on the scene, but there is no doubt that she's made her mark with Paradise Awakening.
