Raven was captured by Lord Cyrus, but Cyrus was killed before Raven's identity to could be made known. Raven is an Aviat, and her race is near extinct, and as she is believed to be the last of the Aviat, she is being ruthlessly hunted. Raven wants her freedom, and tries to escape more than once. Talyn, Captain of the Castle Guard of Nordan, has been assigned to protect her. In order to do so, he must win her trust.

Raven at first cannot communicate in the language of the Nordans, so she is in fear and it is difficult for her to be handled. But, something different happens with Talyn is around. He is able to calm her. At the same time, she calms something deep inside him. Talyn is nearly entranced by her beauty, but more so to something deep in his soul that seems to connect him to Raven. When it is suggested that he try to seduce her in order to gain her trust, it certainly is no hardship, as she raises in him an intense carnal hunger.

There are some interesting scenarios in Spring Pleasures: The Transformation - Raven's identity, the two strangers that come to Nordan shortly after Lord Cyrus was killed, and the impending war between Sudhra and Nordan. All of these factors, including the strong feelings that develop between Raven and Talyn, make this an excellent read. Add to this the amazing surprise that concludes this story, and this book is most certainly a keeper.

In a time of strife, Sienne is being forced to use her skills as a sex slave to get any political or military information she can obtain from Lord Markan of Nordan. Lord Cyrus of Sudhra has brought Sienne to Markan and he holds the threat of the death of her foster family if she does not comply. Sienne is extremely nervous as the cultures are quite different in Sudhra and Nordan. In Sudhra, young women, as of the age of eighteen, are sexually trained and are used as sex slaves. In Nordan, however, there is great sexual freedom. Sex is said to be pleasurable to the women in Nordan, something completely unheard of to Sienne. Will Sienne be able to use her body in order to get secrets from Markan?

Markan has no intention on keeping Sienne during the winter season until the spring thaw. Markan is entranced by Sienne, but does not abide slavery and cannot imagine keeping her. So, he offers her freedom. Sienne has never been free, but her main concern is the safety of her foster family, so she tries to convince Markan to keep her.

Markan isn't fooled. He knows that their has to be a reason that Sienne won't leave. He realizes she is not there voluntarily, but he hasn't gained her trust enough for her to tell him. Since Sienne won't take advantage of the freedom offered her, and since winter is a very long season, Markan offers her a deal. He offers her a special kind of training. Sienne realizes that this is something she cannot say no to.

If you want to enjoy a story with characters that are well-developed, as well as a story that will tough your soul, be sure to pick up a copy of Winter Pleasures: The Training. The passion between Markan and Sienne is so intense, that Markan sets a precedent for his people when it comes to Sienne. Markan's strong feelings of possessiveness and jealousy make him realize that the training he is giving Sienne is equally beneficial to him. As her feelings for Markan grow, Sienne wants to prove her worth to him, yet she cannot forget the threat Cyrus has made.
