After she'd run out of places to search close to home for the meanings behind the dark symbols the OCU kept finding at murder scenes, Lyra flies to Nouveau-Monde for answers.

During a seminar on demon summoning Lyra once again comes face to face with the only man that had tempted her to allow someone close, Theron LeNoir. Five years ago, he was a temptation she barely escaped, now... This time when their eyes meet across the conference room, something passes between them, something magical.

Five years ago Lyra Magice caught his attention, and he flirted with her, but she had run away from him in the end. After he invited her to his home to see some books on black magic, she bound him with a spell and stole the ancient tome from his house. Theron then follows her to Necropolis to reclaim his property. When Caine Valorian asks him to work with Lyra in translating the tome, he decides to stay, if for nothing more, than to see if their battles could turn into something more passionate.

Shortly after Lyra and Theron start working on the translation, the murders start up again, just as Lyra had feared. Both Lyra and Theron, without solid facts, know something terrible is coming, and it would be there soon. In a race against time the OCU track down leads only to be stopped at every turn, will they follow the rules, or will they do the unthinkable and go against as many as they need to?

Veiled Truth is a captivating, impossible to put down, story filled with mystery, intrigue, and passion that I totally adored. I loved the first two books in the Valorian Chronicles, Blood Secrets and Dark Lies, and I feel no different about Veiled Truth. When I start a book because I have a spare half hour before I head to bed, but I can't put it down until I've read the last page, I know I've found a book that will have a prominent place on my keeper shelf to be read over and over again. Vivi Anna is one of my favorite authors, because with every book that I've read, I've been transported to new worlds, and walked side by side in fantastic adventures with incredible characters that I couldn't help but love... or hate. I highly recommend Veiled Truth, the third installment of the Valorian Chronicles, and hope beyond hope that there will be many more books in this series.
