After a son says, "I do", what should his mother do or not do? Author Jane Angelich takes the guesswork out of one of the most misunderstood and mismanaged relationships on the planet--that between a son's wife and his mother. As these pages turn, readers will get practical and time-tested tips on improving this vital family relationship.

Although the book is relatively short (about 160 pages) the advice will be long remembered. Written in a candid, confidential, 'woman-to-woman' style, the author's honesty and research will be appreciated. After surveying hundreds of women through the Wedding Channel website, she compiled their answers and highlighted the common denominators of their situations. She discovered five key strategies that were present in successful relationships and wrote a chapter to showcase each principle.

Alongside the author's insights are actual quotes from women who have been there, done that. In many ways, this entire book is like meeting with a bunch of female friends to discuss a common problem and to develop practical solutions. The words of these women resound with sincerity, hope and encouragement, as they share their stories in an effort to improve the communication between a son's bride and his mother. Specific areas that seem to generate disapproval or disagreements are spotlighted, providing an early warning detection as well as ways to disarm the situation.

Women who want to improve this important relationship will find relevant suggestions within these pages. But perhaps most importantly, they will gain a better understanding of how to lovingly coexist with the 'other woman'.
