Jobina Davidson sat alone at her table in Casey's waiting for her best friend, Tricia, to arrive. Without warning, in walked Noah, her ex-fiancé, with the blond bimbo that he'd been seeing on the side during their engagement, which he then left her for. It's been 6 months since their break up and Noah's enjoying his life, while Jo continues to stagnate in her past. However, on seeing her ex-fiancé again and not about to let him see he's getting the best of her, she ends up leaving for the night with a complete stranger.

Vincenz Christescu moved to Shadow Valley to live his final days on this earth in a small town which reminded him of home. He has only loved two women in his life, neither of which, could accept him for what he was. It is for this reason that he had decided to end his existence, that is, until he meets Jobina and they end up in bed together.

The following morning Jobina finds out that her best friend was murdered while she was with Vincenz. Feeling incredible guilt at having had the best sex of her life while Tricia lay dead beside a dumpster outside of Casey's, Jobina tells Vincenz that she needs some time alone. Shortly thereafter, Vincenz confesses to something that will convince Jobina that he is a murderer and not just any murderer, but the murderer of her best friend Tricia.

I loved this story. It has romance, sizzling sex scenes, and the mystery of whodunit. Jo and Vincenz are wonderful characters that quickly came to know and love, and I was easily pulled into their struggles. I couldn't stop reading Lani Aames' Eternal Passion until the final word. I will certainly be picking up more books from this very talented author.
